Got a minute to make a couple of phone calls to generate some traffic for screencasts?
June 3rd, 2008 by Dan YorkUPDATE - 11 June 2008 - THANKS for all the calls! They were greatly appreciated and the screencasts should be out soon. I don’t need more calls at this point but I will be keeping this applications up there so feel free to call them if you want to check them out.
Do you have a couple of minutes where you could make a couple of phone calls to help me prepare for a screencast recording?
Here in our labs we are working on some new services to better help you in analyzing new log messages. As we prepare to make one of the services available in a beta form, I’m looking to do some screencasts but I need some traffic coming into my sample apps ideally from many different caller IDs and locations.
So here’s my request: Would any of you reading this mind making a couple of quick phone calls today? In all but one of these, the voice application will simply say something to you and hang up. Your total time invested will be maybe 1 or 2 minutes. Call just one or call them all… any data will be helpful in my impending screencast recordings.
NOTE: Do note that your Caller ID might show up briefly on various screens seen in my screencast, so if you don’t want your phone number shown publicly, please don’t call. If you don’t care, please read on…
Here are the apps:
-
+1-407-965-2786 - simple “Hello, world!” - also can be called at skype:+990009369996076704 or sip:9996076704@sip.voxeo.net
-
+1-407-965-2790 - reads your Caller ID back to you as well as the number you called - also can be called at skype:+990009369996076712 or sip:9996076712@sip.voxeo.net
-
+1-407-965-2787 - application that has an error (I need to generate bad data!) so it will give you an error message - also can be called at skype:+990009369996076728 or sip:9996076728@sip.voxeo.net
-
+1-407-413-9800 - this one asks you to answer a question (or push 1, 2 or 3) on the dialpad - also can be called at skype:+990009369996066054 or sip:9996066054@sip.voxeo.net
Again, if you could call any or all of them, that would be great. You only need to call once. I’m just trying to collect a range of data representative of a wide number of different callers (i.e. I want the data in my screencast to not look completely bogus).
Thanks!
P.S. All these applications are variations on what is in the tutorials available through the Documentation area of our Evolution developer portal.
