In Europe cashless parking systems like these have been around for years so nothing new here. Cool service though. I've been using it for a long time and it has saved me a ton on parking tickets. I'm told it has a nice side effect too: parking police supposedly don't want to stop at each car, grab their unit, scan the car's RFID card behind the windshield and wait for the results. Especially when it's cold and raining. So whenever there's crappy weather you can choose not to call into the service and have better odds at not getting a ticket because they don't scan all cars.

The first thing I learned is to dump the free app that the offer. They have an open API and there is much better software available.

Flight Record is the app I used to record video, and its been great for that purpose

Drone Control is a much better app for flying and tweaking settings (it also supports firmware downgrades). It offers Still picture taking, but no video. Its the best all around flight control software, IMHO.

These things are fun, someone should tell YouTube to rack up another couple hundred TB, we're going to be sharing some videos.

What software did you use to capture the in-flight video? (I have an AR.DRONE too) I'd like to make a similar video.

Good article. I'm sure most IT and telecom professionals suspected this as well. After all, upgrades -- forced, unknown ones at that -- are probably the most common reasons for system downtimes! :) If this is indeed the situation from Skype's own post mortem analysis, then Skype has some serious explaining to do... Not a good thing for a company with a fairly new leader and plans for a 2011 IPO.
